The book
The Girls of Room 28, first published in German in 2004 (American edition Schocken Books 2009, Brazilian in 2014, Leya) tells the story of these girls from Room 28 on 440 pages. In it, the Theresienstadt diary by Helga Pollak plays a central role.
In 2014 the Theresienstadt Diary by Helga Pollak-Kinsky was published as first book of the Edition Room 28. It was published to acquaint readers with the complete diary of Helga and with her own story. The autobiography by Evelina Merová, one of the Girls of Room 28, followed.
The three books - together with the exhibition The Girls of Room 28 and the elements of the Room 28 project of remembrance and education - form the precious Legacy of the Girls of Room 28 of the Theresienstadt ghetto.
